In 2024, VINCI Concessions renewed its partnership with France Tourisme Tech, focused on accelerating the development of French start-ups in the travel tech sector. Within this framework, an initial proof of concept (POC) was developed with Murmuration – a start-up that provides tools for assessing the impact of tourism on the environment – at two airports in our network, Lyon-Saint Exupéry in France and Manaus in Brazil. The goal was to have a land-use management tool to better monitor vegetation health across airport sites. By analysing high resolution satellite imagery and leveraging artificial intelligence, the tool enables users to identify soil characteristics, compile in-depth inventories, and find the ideal locations for infrastructure, avoiding important ecological areas. Once its value had been proven, this innovative solution was deployed at 50 airports in the VINCI Airports network.
